That and the infinite Breaker setting gives Nero a level of freedom he can't achieve in normal gameplay. Having an invincible training dummy so I don't have to keep restarting mission 12 over and over and over for the most convenient practice spot for 4 Dante and Trish is a fucking godsend. I wish we had difficulty options and the rest of the bosses but it's stil a huge time saver.
Warm up in Bloody Palace letting you jump to any floor. But as a console pleb there are two features that put 5 in a league of its own. So many things I wish I could do with 3 Dante. Though if I had access to style switching in 3 I could very much seeing it giving 5 a run for it's money in gameplay too. Though 5 had the better penultimate fight by miles to put it mildly. 3 has no chance though I feel like it has the better final boss fight. Throw in 5 Nero being my favorite playstyle in anything, which has led me to master 5 to a degree I can't imagine ever achieving in 3 and 4 because they just can't approach how much I enjoy 5 Nero.
It's a matter of preference but he has very high quality in qaunity where 4 had exceptional but hard to grasp quality in limited supply. Far lower skill floor but still very high skill ceiling. Even with the loss of inertia and other tech in 5 his arsenal is outright better than 4 due to simply having more options and freedom on which to equip.
LADY DMC 5 FULL
3 is still great but style switching alone puts 4 and 5 Dante on a whole different level and the arsenal along with full custom loadout of 5 Dante utterly blows both predecessors out of the water imo.
Let alone Lady fighting alongside me like in the credits of 3.Īs for gameplay I don't have style switching in 3 so 5 wins by a landslide. Damn it Capcom that's what the internet is for, the internet isn't gonna give me shit like Trish throwing motorcycles at dudes and Lady fighting back to back with Dante. I don't have a problem with naked Lady and Trish but it really bugs me when both of them are given proper models to appear alongside you in gameplay during the story but we don't see either one kill a single demon in either gameplay or cutscene but we do get full on fanservice instead. Lady went from being a great character to just fanservice and Trish was never anything special but she at least some moments in 1 and 4. In 5 almost everybody is great but it really bugs me how Lady and Trish were used. Lady is a compelling character, Arkham and Jester are a great duo as well as the twins. The moments 5 does give us are fantastic but you can't match all the shit young Dante pulls.ģ also makes full use of the cast in a way no other game did. As the finale to this saga 5 is just as strong but not as much as a solo story. Though 5 doesn't have nearly as many memorable moments as 3 and I feel 3 is stronger as a standalone story. He has a family, his traumas are worked out, he has godly power and a friendly rivalry with Dante. Then Nero comes in and is willing to kick the shit out of both of them to protect who he loves.
We also learn from V that Vergil wanted to be protected and loved but he and Dante are too blinded by murder bones for each other after so much shit to do any different than as always. He got that and he knows he was wrong about Eva. When Vergil came back in 5 he only wanted to fight Dante. The entire final battle seems set up that they respect each other and only fight because Vergil wants more power. He let Lady live when he could've easily killed her. Vergil had no interest in helping Arkham in 3 and tried to kill him when he was of no further use. V has so many of Vergil's mannerisms and his memory along with his obsessions still lingering but he went out of his way to help weaken the Qlipoth when he could've just went looking for Sparda right away. Urizen was only those obsessions made manifest with nothing else left of Vergil. I haven't read Visions of V yet but it's not entirely clear in game if V was 100% Vergil's.mind lets say but either way the split clearly did not go the way he intended. He wanted more power to that end and to never feel helpless like he was on that day again. Vergil had an obsessive need to be better than Dante because he thought Eva left him behind.
LADY DMC 5 SERIES
I can see why people have a problem with 5's ending but I think if you look at the characters over the series it all makes sense.
